Installation steps:

1. Install Tasksel utility

apt install tasksel -y

2. Launch Tasksel

tasksel

3. Using arrow key scroll down to "Ubuntu desktop". Press Space key to select it. Press Tab key to select Ok. Hit enter to install Ubuntu desktop

4. Install TigerVNC

apt install tigervnc-standalone-server -y

5. Create new user

adduser lemehost

6. Switch to new user

su - lemehost

7. Set VNC password (This will be needed later)

vncpasswd

8. Start VNC server

vncserver -localhost no

9. Verify VNC is running

vncserver -list 

Output should look like

TigerVNC server sessions:


X DISPLAY # RFB PORT # PROCESS ID
:1        5901        883

And done!

We recommend using https://www.realvnc.com/en/connect/download/viewer... to control VNC server

use server IP:5901 for connection and enter your password defined before.
